August is here and with that the annual Stockholm Water Festival. That's the time when all the tourists and cousins from the country come to our lovely city and all "Stockholm'ers" tries to escape this 10 day long crazy festival. http://www.waterfestival.se/ Anyway, if you're in the neighborhood of Stockholm Friday the 13th of August, you'll find me DJ:ing at the Koh Phangan tent in Kungstradgarden, from 19:00 until 01:00. Me promise BIG party! Speaking about Sweden, here is some fun trivia facts for you. *** The Muppet show has a many things worth looking back and laugh at, and one of the most memorable thing is the "cocktail-jazz-duo" Mah-na Mah-na which performed a fun & crazy little tune. You can find it here: http://www.common.se/hokan/fun/manamana.wav This song was actually NOT written for The Muppet Show, but in fact was a tune from the Italian film "Svezia, inferno e paradiso" by Luigi Scattini from 1968. The film is about Sweden during the Swinging Sixties and describes "typical" Swedish phenomenons like porn movies, lesbian night clubs, teenage sexual education at school, alcohol problems and suicide. The film was rated in the states with big X and was banned completely in Sweden. Think about that next time you hear that song! :-) If you speak Italiano check out this link about the film: http://www.giramondo.com/n9702/mattatore/captrash/svezia.htm *** "We trained hard ... but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form up into teams we would be reorganised. I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganising; and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress while producing confusion, inefficiency, and demoralisation." Author: Petronius, year 60 AD. *** Have a great August, /Hokan |
